In Contention - Cinematography (Updated)

After Critics Choice Awards, BAFTA Longlist and ASC nominations, here I am with much more polished predictions for Best Cinematography. A plus sign tells the increase in rank after new predictions and negative sign shows decrease in rank.

  1. The Tree of Life - Emmanuel Lubezki (no change)
  2. The Artist - Guillaume Schiffman (+1)
  3. Hugo - Robert Richardson (+2)
  4. War Horse - Janusz Kaminski (-2)
  5. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Jeff Cronenweth (+3)
  6. Drive - Newton Thomas Sigel (no change)
  7. Tinkor Taylor Soldier Spy - Hoyte van Hoytema (NEW ENTRY)
  8. The Descendants - Phedon Papamichael (NEW ENTRY)
  9. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - Eduardo Serra (-5)
  10. Faust - Bruno Delbonnel (-3)
Out of the Race - Ides of March and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

The biggest front runner emerged yesterday, when Cronenweth was nominated for an ASC for his work on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Tinkor Taylor Soldier Spy got in, and Kaminski, who was considered as a front runner for War Horse, was not even nominated. It will be interesting to see which of these will make the final cut.
